Long Before You Arrived

Deep in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, a research facility operated in secret for eleven years. It produced four entertainment animatronics — cutting-edge, adaptive, behaviorally complex. When contact with the facility was lost in the autumn of 1987, the project was quietly buried.

You are the only person who went back.

The power is partially restored. The halls are navigable. The animatronics are not deactivated — and they have spent thirty-seven years in the dark, learning from each other. Each one hunts differently. Each one has had decades to improve.

BRUTUS

Vibration

A hulking maintenance unit repurposed as a patrol bot. Brutus cannot see or hear — but he feels every footstep through the concrete. He remembers where you've walked and circles back to check those spots, even hours later.

A sleek performer unit that retreats from light sources — but the moment your flashlight dies, she moves. Vixen is fast. Once she has a sightline in the dark, distance means nothing.

Acoustic

A birdlike unit built for the facility's observation floor. Aviar tracks sound — not just footsteps, but voices, doors, clattering objects, even the click of a flashlight. She is perched somewhere above you at all times.
